Probably one of the most experienced woman pilots in Great Britain, Tizi's over 13,000 hours include 5000 flying big jets and many patient hours spent instructing everything from basic flying skills, through aerobatics and training experienced pilots to get their commercial licences and instrument ratings. She spent several years bush flying in Africa, a season as a full time formation aerobatic display pilot flying an RF4 with the Unipart Team (a favourite on the airshow circuit in the 1980's).
| | | On one occasion she flew a single engined Mooney light aeroplane solo from South Africa to the UK and then across the Atlantic to the USA, finally finishing in Florida (probably setting several Women's World Records in the process, had she bothered to claim them). An accomplished contest aerobatic pilot, Tizi has twice been "Leading Lady of British Aerobatics". | | | | | | As well as flying, Tizi's passion in recent years has been Falconry and she has recently published a book ("A True Partnership") about her experiences training, bonding with and hunting with a Kestrel, a Ferrugenous Hawk and a Golden Eagle (Yes, this flying instructor really did teach an Eagle to fly!). The book is available through Tiger Airways at £9.99 plus postage & package. Tizi's other accomplishments include three years with a motorcycle display team, sky-diving, scuba diving, a black belt - first degree, in Choi-Kwang-Do (and an instructor as well), plus considerable skill as a horse-woman. She was also the first lady to complete the Trans-Kalahari Motor-Cycle race. | | | | |
